Sometimes my inspiration for a piece comes from my collective experiences, but then there are other times when I'm directly inspired by a particular image.
This was the case for "Caspian". I found an image of a diver swimming up towards the surface. She is surrounded by nothingness, just her and the water. It looked utterly peaceful.
Though I'd have to say that my favorite part about this image were the waves gently rippling overhead with streaks of sunlight streaming down, creating varying shades of blues and greens.
I wanted to replicate that calming underwater feel, and decided to limit the color palette to just blues, greens, and beiges.
