A few weeks ago I started hitting a bit of a block with my abstracts, so I decided to take a break and go back to my roots. I have been painting different versions of this waterfall for many years now. It has steadily improved every time I paint it- maybe because I learn new techniques and have a more practiced hand. Sometimes it will have a garza in the water, sometimes it will have an island.
I made cilantro and lime brown rice the other day and it was absolutely delicious. And the best part was that it was super easy to make. I got the recipe from Fit Foodie Finds and I followed it almost to a "t", but I think next time I made it I'm going to modify it a bit. Adding the garlic and the salt (esp. sea salt) at the end didn't make much sense to me. It made for uneven flavor.
Sometime during the last few months of 2012 one of my very good friends convinced me to sign up for the 2013 Disney Half Marathon in September (for those of you who don't know, a half marathon is 13 miles). I wasn't too sure about it because I wasn't in the best of shape, and I wasn't too fond of running. Mainly because I couldn't even go a block without being out of breath. However, she painted a very magical picture of how awesome this race was going be. Saying that we were going to run through the park and the Disney characters were going to be there to cheer us on. And we would get these pretty medals at the end of the race. She made it sound like it was going to be uber fun, so I said "sign me up!" .
